The Accessible Handwashing Initiative is a collection of volunteers that is primarily funded by Step 'n Wash LLC. We use this site to help parents and caregivers request accessible handwashing options at the stores they visit.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, we and our service providers may collect:

1. Device and browser information
2. IP address and general location
3. Pages viewed and actions taken
4. UTM parameters and referral source
5. Session recordings and heatmaps

We use the following tools to collect some of this data:

1. Google Analytics for site usage and performance
2. Microsoft Clarity for session replay and heatmaps
3. Meta advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel for ad measurement and audience insights

1. Contact the specific retailers you select on your behalf
2. Include your note in a letter or message to a store

4. Operate, maintain, and improve the site and our outreach
5. Measure the effectiveness of our pages and ads
6. Create aggregate, de-identified reports by city or retailer

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with:

1. Retailers you select so we can submit your request and include your note

We do not share your information with other third parties for their own marketing.

This site is intended for adults who can submit requests to retailers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Typical retention is up to 24 months from your last interaction, unless a longer period is required for legal or operational reasons.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Our services are operated in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the U.S., where laws may differ from those in your country.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights.

California. You may have rights to know, access, delete, correct, and limit the use of certain information. You also have the right to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.
